N.B.  LAST YEAR THE 32 KM LINEAR WALK RAISED APPROX.  $ 4100 FOR CAMP SHAWNIGAN. GOOD WORK LION DAVE NASH AND YOUR CREW OF HELPERS.

APR 13 - 15, 2012 - SOOKE LIONS HOSTING DISTRICT 19-I CONFERENCE AT SOOKE'S NEW "BEST WESTERN PRESTIGE HOTEL".

N.B.: If any of the information or dates noted above are not correct let me know and I will correct them asap.

All money collected from these events goes to local charities and to help the people of Sooke and local charities.


LCIF has reported on their website that to date (Mar 2011), 1.25 million dollars has been earmarked to go towards disaster relief for the Japanese Earthquake and tsunami.

LCIF has reported that as of SEPT 30, 2010 Haiti Relief has reached a grand total of $ 6,117,564.00 in Worldwide donations.  MD 19 - I (British Columbia and Washington State) raised a total of $ 108,279.

If a member of the Sooke Lions Club would like to send a submission to the "Lions Magazine" send your article/story to: "lionmagazine@lionsclub.org" .  Be sure to include in your submission what Province and Country you are from as well as the name of our club. Letter in last "Pass-on Book" shows the type of stories/articles they are looking for.

Sooke Lions also support the LCIF "Sight First" program, disaster preparedness and relief through the Lions "ALERT" program, as well as  "Camp Shawnigan",  Cops For Cancer"  and "Wildarc".  The Sooke Lions also put all Grade 2 students through a learn to swim program.
